British Columbia´s Delta Police Integrates DJI Dock 2 Into Drone Operations

In an era of rapidly developped technologies, various sectors are relying heavily on automated tools and solutions to enhance their operations and ensure accuracy. Drones are part of these technologies due to their usability and efficiency in different complex missions. The Delta Police Department in British Columbia, Canada, is one of the police departments that integrated the DJI drones into their search and rescue operations.

Through DJI Dock 2, Delta Police Department created a smarter and faster emergency response system powered by automatic drone operations. The DJI Dock 2 control station is designed for reliable and continuous drone operations, making it an ideal technology for surveillance, security, and inspections, where repetitive tasks are performed.

The DJI Dock 2 control station accomodates drones from the Matrice 3D or 3TD series in a simple and safe way. It offers the highest level of application options and has cloud-based, intelligent features that ensure greater efficiency and quality in automatic operation. The Delta Police Department´s primary use of DJI drones is surveillance, as this helped them maintain the low crime rates in the area by monitoring several areas in real time. Officers are able to have an aerial view that can help them manage drowds, track suspects, or respond to emergencies.

DJI Dock 2 was designed with a focus on protection and safety. Thanks to its IP55 [1] dust and water resistance , the Dock 2 can operate continuously for long periods of time, even in harsh climates and environments. It also includes multiple sensors such as rainfall, wind speed and temperature readings to detect weather changes in real time. Combined with online weather forecasts, it can issue timely warnings or terminate flight tasks via DJI FlightHub 2 to effectively reduce flight risk. Thanks to the most advanced image recognition technology, the aircraft recognizes the positioning markings on the landing surface very precisely. In addition, the new centering of the landing surface using a sliding ramp makes precise landing even easier.
