Drones Deliver Goods to China´s Great Wall
Xinhua News Agency reported that the city of Beijing launched its first drones towards the Badaling section of the Great Wall. These drones will enable tourists to receive goods and emergency supplies rapidly.
China´s great wall is a famous destination for tourists, as the south ninth watchtower on the extended line of the Badaling Great Wall area was opened to the public in 2023. The area serves as a delivery point for tourists and visitors who try different activities such as hiking, travel photography, and adventure crossing. However, the absence of commercial amenities makes it challenging for tourists to restock the essentials like water and food.
A partnership between the Badaling Great Wall scenic area and a delivery platform was set to deal with this matter. The platform launched a drone delivery route, meaning that visitors will be able to receive supplies - which they ordered by scanning a QR code with their phones - by drones within five minutes.
The drones are able to transport waste on the return trip, reducing the Great Wall´s maintenance costs and time spent on deliveries.
Visitors of China´s famous wall can enjoy another drone experiences like trial classes in pilot training and flying over the Great Wall using a fixed-wing aircraft.
