Germany Introduces its First Industrial Drone - X4

It is about time Germany introdcues its own first industrial drone!! A collaboration between HHLA Sky, drone designs leader, and Continental Engineering Services (CES) introduced the first industrial drone in Germany - the X4 drone.

This collaboration gathered HHLA Sky´s innovation with CES´ engineering techniques to produce the X4 drone that will set new standards for technological advancement in unmanned aerial systems (UAVs). The drone is designed for surveillance and monitoring, thanks to its quadcopter design that ensures reliability and efficiency. Consequently, the X4 drone will be an important tool in security and emergency operations.

X4 Drone Design and Features

The X4 drone´s design combines durability and high performance, due to CES´ new standards in producing a design that makes the drone lightweight. CES merged operational efficiency with low noise, along with the ability to monitor live data. This makes the drone efficient for users and professionals who need real-time accurate data.

The X4 drone has an Integrated Control System (ICC), a platform that provides fleet control and Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations. This platform allows users to control around 100 X4 drones. CES quotes: ` The ICC keeps the number of highly skilled drone operators at a reasonable level, offering operational efficiency across the board´.

In addition to the ICC platform, the X4 drone is equipped with many useful features such as:

- 4G/5G Encrypted Data Link: Secures communications and provides HD video streaming to up to 20 clients.

- RTK-GNSS and Safety Parachute: Ensures precise positioning and safe operation in a range of environments.

- Fully Integrated ROS 2 Architecture: Improves real-time performance and security, while supporting multi-robot operations.

- Versatile Payload Options: The drone can be configured with RGB or combined RGB/IR sensors to fit various needs.

HHLA Sky and CES´ X4 drone introduces a new level of intelligence and automation to the drone industry, while Germany is getting ready to start producing its own drones driven by cutting-edge technology, innovation, and European drone ecosystem advancement.
