Drones played a critical role during the last Los Angeles wildfires, precisely in firefighting, monitoring, and search & rescue operations. Different drones types from several companies were deployed using thermal imagery, mapping, and analysis capabilities to help fire departments have a general idea on what is going on. Some of the drones used in the incident include DJI Matrice 300RTK, Skydio X10, Parrot ANAFI Thermal, and DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual.
DJI Matrice 300RTK:
This drone from the giant Chinese drone manufacrturer DJI was one of the crucial drones used to manage the wildfire. Matrice 300RTK was ideal for aerial firefighting support thanks to its robust design and thermal camera, Zenmuse H20T. Its thermal imaging features allowed the teams to spot hot areas and convey informations.

Skydio X10:
The Skydio X10 drone was a vlauable asset along with DJI Matrice 300RTK. It helped in fire behavior monitoring, hotspot detection, search and rescue operations, and post-fire damage assessment. Skydio X10 seems to be an important tool in LA wildfires arsenal, as it assisted in improving situational awareness, streamline firefighting operations, and enhance safety.

Parrot Anafi Thermal:
Parrot Anafi Themal drone followed the Skydio X10 drone in its tasks. The drone demonstrated a great value as the other drones with its easy-to-use interface and advanced imaging features.

DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual:
Another product of DJI, the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual, was among the drone arsenal. This drone combines between a compact size, dual camera system, and a high-resolution visual camera with a thermal imaging capability.
These specific drones played a significant role in the Los Angeles wildfires, providing live data and reaching hard-to-reach areas.
