DJI´s Latest Series `On The Road´ Responds to the US ban

DJI-Enterprise started a new series called `On the Road with Chief Wayne Baker´ to discuss the important roles of their drones especially in public safety. The first episode held a discussion between Wayne Baker from DJI-Enterprise and UAS Detective Luis Figueiredo.

Detective Figueiredo shared how DJI drones helped him immensily in his work, especially in incident management and crime prevention. He explained thoroughly his 20-year-old career in law enfercement and his progression from street patrol to drugs, and later on using the UAVs in his daily operations. Luis´ department was one of the first to receive the green light to use drones near Newark International Airport.

Figueiredo showcased some moments where the use of drones was crucial. A terrorist attack and a ship fire were monitored and analysed using drones, leading the department to control the situation from the sky. The detective highlighted the importance of drones with their real-time visuals that support the department with instant solutions.

The conversation between Baker and Figueiredo touched on the DJI drones ban challenges that will affect drone programs and parties relying on the Chinese company. Luis insisted that policymakers need to see for themselves the advantages of the DJI drones in public safety operations and not only impose restrictions based on national security level. The DJI ban will not only affect police environment, but also other industries that cannot replace these drones, adds Luis.
